Healthcare

Whitefish residents and visitors have access to top-quality healthcare through Logan Health (formerly Kalispell Regional Healthcare), a leader in care for the state of Montana.  Two hospitals service the Flathead Valley: Logan Health – Whitefish, located near the corner of Highways 93 and 40; and Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell.

Logan Health – Whitefish

Located at the south end of town, Logan Health – Whitefish features a 24/7 emergency department and seven board certified emergency medicine physicians. The facility provides a wide range of hospital-based in-patient and outpatient services, including laboratory and imaging services, minimally invasive robotic and orthopedic surgery, infusion services and a birth center.

The hospital and outreach clinics are known throughout the valley for their Planetree philosophy of person-centered care -- an approach that strives to demystify, humanize and personalize the healthcare experience for patients in a healing environment. The Planetree philosophy is evident in everything from the comfortable, welcoming feel of the building design to the compassionate care of employees in all departments at the hospital.

In addition, Logan Health – Whitefish operates two seasonal walk-in care clinics to serve residents and visitors alike at Whitefish Mountain Resort (open daily during ski season), and West Glacier Clinic (open daily from Memorial Day through September 30). There are also primary care clinics in Columbia Falls, Eureka, and a behavioral health clinic in Whitefish just south of the hospital.

Logan Health Medical Center

A center of health care excellence in the Flathead Valley for more than 100 years, LHMC is both a community hospital and a regional referral center, offering the area’s most advanced health services and medical technology.  Other members of the Logan Health group include Logan Health Brendan House, Logan Health Medical Fitness Center and Logan Health Children’s.

Logan Health Children’s provides access to high-quality pediatric specialty care in the Flathead Valley, including the largest group of fellowship-trained pediatric specialists in the state. The facility includes a 12-bed pediatric unit, a six bed pediatric intensive care unit, and a 12-bed neonatal intensive care unit.

Work Less, Play More

There are many options available for those who want to work less and play more ... but still have all the services they need to stay in good health during retirement. There are several senior living apartment/condominium options in the Whitefish area, as well as assisted living options and nursing homes. The Whitefish Community Center is the base for congregate meals and Meals on Wheels deliveries for the Whitefish area, and offers an array of exercise, social and health screening activities.

Fitness

The Wave Aquatic and Fitness Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to the health and well-being of the Whitefish community.  Built by volunteers with mostly private funds raised right here in Whitefish, The Wave includes an Aquatics Center which features three different pools, a Jacuzzi, sauna, and steam rooms. In the Fitness Center, you’ll find top-of-the-line equipment, first-class free weights, weight machines and a wide array of cardiovascular equipment.
